Optical characterization of resist for three-dimensional two-photon polymerization

We use three-dimensional (3D) two-photon polymerization (TPP) to structure a variety of optical devices ranging from lenses, diffractive structures to light-harvesting structures for increased efficiency of photovoltaic elements. During the process of 3D-TPP a tightly focussed laser spot scans in programmable patterns through a resist, that polymerizes and forms the desired structures.

Your Task: The optical properties of the resist are crucial for the performance of the fabricated device. Especially for the case of micro structures, no reliable information exists. Your task is therefore to characterize the resist. This includes broadband polarization-resolved absorption measurements, measurements based on total internal reflection and spectroscopic ellipsometry. The goal is to determine the complex refractive index in the visible and infrared range, and identify process depended optical anisotropies.
