PhD-Student (f/m), Master or Diploma in Physics or a related scientific discipline - X-ray Pump-Probe Experiments

The research will be focused on the investigation of the fundamental interactions which are important to understand the ultrafast dynamics of solids. Collective excitations, phase transitions, localization of excitation and electron-phonon coupling form the scientific challenges of the group. The focus of the student (f/m) will be on experiments with ultrafast x-ray pulses generated at our x-ray pump-probe beamline at the synchrotron BESSY II.

Anforderungen

The candidates (f/m) should have a diploma or master in physics or a related scientific discipline, ideally with a background in x-rays, femtosecond laser pulses, synchrotron radiation or low temperature physics. A strong motivation for working in a team at a large scale facility will be helpful.
