We are looking for a committed student for the department of Environmental Microbiology to commence at the earliest possible date in the following vacancy

▪ Electroactive microorganisms can exchange electrons with solid electron conductors and play a vital role for natural geochemical redox processes as well as microbial bioelectrochemical systems

Anforderungen

Your duties:
▪ Identification of production pathways using microbial resource mining and new screen-ing and cultivation techniques
▪ In depth analysis and engineering of microbial bioelectrotechnological processes
▪ Application of electrochemical, chemical analytical (e.g. HPLC, GC) as well as molecular biology techniques (DNA extraction, T-RFLP fingerprinting, sequencing)

Your profile:
▪ Excellent master degree in Biochemistry or related field
▪ Strong capabilities in the fields of molecular microbial ecology, metabolic pathways, (mixed culture) biotechnology
▪(Bio)electrochemical knowledge is a surplus but can be provided by hands-on training
▪ Good English proficiency & willingness to work in an international community
