PhD-Student
The Research Group Fiber Sensor is devoted to study new kinds of hybrid optical fibers and their application in the fields of biophotonics, nonlinear optics, optofluidics and sensing in general. The research carried out is highly interdisciplinary covering the entire spectrum from fundamental research to real-world application.
The project targets the investigation of all-solid glass cladding hollow core optical fibers with regard to (i) fundamental optical guidance principles and (ii) application of these fibers in the area of bio- and nonlinear photonics. The project comprises simulation and theory, design, fabrication and characterization of this novel kind of fiber.
